Garden colour is warm and confident. Soft watercolour is lighter, for a quieter corner. Bold shapes simplifies leaves and paths into crisp, graphic forms. The art style can change plants and structures, so check the preview against your photo before you order.

Which style suits your photo

Match the style to what the photo is about. A packed border or a bed in full flower works in Garden colour, which is built for confident colour and a little wildness. A quiet corner, such as a bench under a tree or a shaded path, suits the light washes of Soft watercolour. If the strength of the picture is its lines, such as a gravel path, a row of pots or a trellis, try Bold shapes, with its simplified foliage and crisp contrast.

You don't have to guess. Once your email is verified you can try up to three successful watermarked previews a day, so you can compare styles on your own photo before you choose.

2. Choose your route. Print it as it is, or pick a style and check the watermarked preview.
3. Choose a size. The upload tool shows which sizes your file can carry.
4. Order. The print is made to order and delivered to a UK address, with delivery included.

Which photo works best

Use the original, full-resolution file. A clear path, a favourite border or a familiar shed gives the picture a focal point. Leave room around the edges, because the crop depends on the size you choose.

Getting their photo without giving the game away

If it's a gift, you can't just ask. Try these places.

• A phone album or a shared family album. Search the summer months.
• A photo you took yourself on a visit.
• Someone who visits more often than you do. Ask them for the original file.
• For a new home, the photos from the sale. Ask whoever took them before you print.
