Both begin with your photograph. The important difference is whether you want its details preserved or its appearance reimagined.
What direct photo printing does
The direct route uses your uploaded photograph without an AI art treatment. You choose an available size and finish, and check the crop. This is the clearest choice when the exact planting, a particular tree, a person's appearance or writing on a garden sign matters.
Printing still changes how an image is seen. A screen emits light and paper does not; the selected surface and the light in your room affect the result. That is different from changing the content of the photograph.
What an AI portrait does
An AI treatment creates an interpretation of the photograph in a chosen visual style. Garden colour uses confident painterly shapes, Soft watercolour aims for lighter washes, and Bold shapes simplifies the composition. These are digital AI treatments, not commissioned handmade paintings.
The original garden should remain recognisable, but AI can add, remove or distort details. It may misunderstand greenhouse glazing, merge flower heads, alter a roofline or change the shape of a path. A pleasing overall image is not proof that every detail is correct.
How to inspect the preview
Start with the feature you care about most. Compare the path, shed and trees against the photograph. Then examine the edges and background. Look for duplicated pots, unfamiliar structures, impossible stems and accidental marks that resemble lettering.
If the result changes something important, do not choose it simply because the colours are attractive. Try another available preview or use the direct route. Your selected AI composition is the basis for the print; the preview approval step deserves a careful look.
Choose by the person and purpose

For a gift, think about how the recipient relates to their garden. A plant enthusiast may care deeply about a flower's structure. Someone remembering a family garden may respond more to the atmosphere. There is no obligation to choose the AI route.
Use a strong starting file
Both routes benefit from an original, sharp photograph. A screenshot with missing detail limits your choices. The tool checks which print sizes suit the uploaded file; do not assume a style treatment removes that constraint.
