Blue Tits at the Feeder (gouache style) Poster from £15.99 Garden bird prints, each in its own setting
Each of these garden bird prints shows the bird where you would see it: on the feeder, in the hedge, on the lawn after rain. That is the difference between a garden bird print and a field-guide plate. The setting is part of the picture, so a goldfinch comes with the teasels it feeds on and a nuthatch climbs head-first down an apple tree.
- Wren on the Wall. A wren with a cocked tail on a mossy stone wall with ferns and small flowers.
- Goldfinches on the Teasels. Three goldfinches feeding on dry teasel heads in a late summer garden.
- Blackbird on the Lawn. A male blackbird on a dewy lawn beside a flower border.
- Blue Tit in the Blossom. A blue tit among pink and white apple blossom on a branch.
- Long-Tailed Tits. A small flock of long-tailed tits along a bare twig.
- Song Thrush. A speckled song thrush on a garden path beside a stone and an empty snail shell.
- Sparrows in the Hedge. House sparrows among green hedge leaves and small white flowers.
- Bullfinch in the Plum. A male bullfinch on a plum branch with white blossom buds.
- Great Tit on the Sunflower. A great tit clinging to a nodding sunflower head full of seeds.
- Nuthatch on the Apple Tree. A nuthatch climbing head-first down a mossy apple tree trunk with apples above.
- Robin on the Spade. A robin perched on a spade handle in a frosty vegetable bed with leeks behind.
- Holly and the Wren. A small brown wren among glossy holly leaves and red berries with trailing ivy.
- Blue Tits at the Feeder. Two blue tits on a hanging seed feeder in a frosty garden with red rose hips.

Robin prints
The robin is the bird most people would put on their wall, and the one most likely to follow a gardener round the beds. Robin on the Spade shows it on a spade handle in a frosty vegetable bed, which also makes it a Christmas print. For the rest of the year, pair it with Wren on the Wall or Blackbird on the Lawn.
Choosing bird prints for a set
Small birds read well at small sizes, so a row of three A4 prints works where one large print would not fit. Blue tit, great tit and long-tailed tits make a set from one family; robin, wren and blackbird are the three a garden is most likely to have. If you’re not sure which birds they get, our garden birds guide covers who visits and when.
Garden wildlife beyond the birds
The same series includes the hedgehog in the leaves, the fox at dusk and the bees on the lavender, for someone whose garden is as much about what lives in it as what grows there. See Hedgehog in the Leaves and Bumblebee on the Lavender.
Questions before you choose
Which garden bird prints go together?
Robin, wren and blackbird are the three most gardens have. Blue tit, great tit and long-tailed tits make a set from the tit family.
Are these prints of real birds?
They are painted artworks of British garden birds in imagined garden scenes, made to order as posters, framed prints, canvas, metal, wood, mugs and bottles.
